This shoot is special to my heart. Jynelle and Dave contacted me for their wedding after finding my work online and asked if I’d be interested in photographing their engagement shoot (which I do with every wedding) out in Nova Scotia. UM YES. This little weekend trip was such a dream. I photographed more than just a typical engagement shoot because the mindset was to capture their life in Nova Scotia. These photos are a blend of engagement photos as well as travel photography from our road trip around the province. Dave is finishing his medical residency so a tiny town several hours from Halifax so has been their home for the last few years. Their wedding is planned for this fall and I’m counting down the months!
I always suggest to my couples to treat their engagement shoot like an experience.. something to celebrate and document this time in your life of being engaged rather than an item on your wedding to-do list. I’ve had so many unique travel opportunities come up for engagements and weddings! In the last 7 months I’ve been able to travel to Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Halifax, Minneapolis, Vancouver, Sacramento… can’t wait to add more to my list this summer. (I’ll have time to shoot a couple engagements on my trip to Banff for a wedding if you’re there in late July!)
