Whenever I take the time to look back and reflect on the previous year it always impacts me deeply. I’m another year older, another year better and still just as passionate to have my camera in hand. Shooting 27 weddings in 2014 stretched me to my limits. 19 of those weddings while pregnant with our first baby boy, Moses. 2014 forced me to work harder than I ever have in the past and maintain my creativity from shoot to shoot. I was afraid I would leave the year feeling burnt out, feeling stagnant and ready to toss in the towel but I found it did the opposite. Instead I felt energized, challenged and inspired and headed into 2015 running full speed. I found that the more I shoot, the more I have to give. The more I create, the better I get. Creating never leaves me dry. Sometimes I need a breather to refocus and reflect on who I want to be and where I want to go as an artist but I’m never sucked dry.
Thank you to each of my couples and clients who trusted me with the momentous task of documenting your day; and more importantly, documenting the feel, the emotion, the love. It was a pleasure that I do not take for granted. Flipping through these images, I am blown away by the friendships I’ve formed with you through taking your photo. You guys are the best and I am so incredibly thankful for each one of you!
Here’s to 2015. It’s been grand and getting grander every weekend. Thanks for reading and enjoy!
